What should I do on a rest day?

Whilst exercise and a regular movement routine are important to a healthy body and mind, it’s equally important to have time to rest! Rest days give your body a break and time to recover and repair.

If you're not sure what to do on a rest day, here are some feel good activities you can try!

Active Recovery: We love to do low-impact activities like a brisk walk, bike ride or swim at the local pool. These activities can help increase blood flow and promote recovery without putting too much strain on your body.

Foam Rolling: Foam rolling can help to release muscle tension, improve your range of motion, and reduce soreness and stiffness. You can also use a spiky ball to roll out those tight muscles.

Stretching: Gentle stretching can help improve flexibility, increase blood flow, and reduce muscle soreness.. and it feels good!

Relax: Take a day to rest and relax, make a nice cup of tea or a healthy snack, read a book and enjoy your favourite activities. We know this can be challenging if you have a young family, but scheduling time to relax is essential - particularly for your mental health.

Above all, listen to your body and rest or take breaks when you need to. Plus - rest days are the perfect time to plan your pilates classes for the week ahead!
